The Refuge on The River

New Comments Starting November 2008

We stopped by the "Refuge on the River" for dinner after we met up with you guys at Bowling last Saturday.  Very nice place.  
I got the Mahi-Mahi.  Can't describe what was on it, but it was the best that I ever had.  
Thanks for the tip and kudos to your buddy who runs that place. Ben

Visited your restaurant tonight with my daughter.  Had the  sting-ray, and that other thing with the long name.  
Escargot was fabulous!  As was the wine, and sting-ray, and that long-named thing.  Great place to eat.  
Missed seeing Jim.  Had hoped he had some more words of  pithy wisdom.   BARB

Personally, The Refuge is the only place I will eat for a wonderful, fun, fine dining experience.
Their food just blows me away, when we go out to eat, I automatically think The Refuge.  KAYLA

I was at the Refuge on Dec. 31st, New Year Eve, which was my Birthday. I ordered the Alaskan King Crab and it was great.
Everyone at our table were very happy with our meals. Thanks so much.   HONORINE

We have a reservation for 4 tonight (12/30/06) at 5:00 PM.  My wife and I from New Richmond plan on meeting my sister Margaret and
her husband from Menomonie for dinner. Hammond is a half way point for us to meet. Your food and drinks are excellent. DON

We absolutely love The Refuge!  Service is second to none, prices are more than fair and the food is to die for!!! We don't have to
drive an hour to enjoy a top quality dinner!  I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities and they don't come close
to this!!!!  Also, your staff goes out of the way to make every occasion special, including a special dinner for our 8 year old daughter
who loves prime rib.  Thanks to everyone at The Refuge for such a great restaurant!!!  MICHELLE

We live in Hudson and received your advertisements twice in the mail, which have made us anxious to visit your new restaurant.
From the look of it, it should be very difficult to narrow down a choice for dinner from your exciting menu because I want to try it all!

We have thoroughly enjoyed every meal that we have had at the Refuge. In June we celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary at your
place. Since we always come in to eat before 5PM, we have had the pleasure of having the same waitress, each time.  She is so
knowledgeable and helpful, and very accommodating, and she remembers us!  We love her. Keep up the good work!  We wish you
much success. We know that each time we stop we are guaranteed a wonderful meal.  JUDY & BRUCE

Finally visited your restaurant after driving by it these past few months and seeing all the different exotic dishes that you've offered.

We were in on Friday, May 13th, our food was fantastic! I had the breaded shrimp, got 10 shrimp, took 5 home.
Huge, delicious, will order them again. The asparagus was prepared to perfection. My husband's prime rib was "made to order".
I recommend all of the above, also, try the claim chowder. Wonderful!   DON & BARBARA.

We have enjoyed fine dining at The Refuge numerous times since they've opened.  The food is superb; the staff a delight!  In fact,
we have six of us indulging at the Refuge again this evening!  Highly recommended by two locals!  SHELLEY

I just moved from Southern California and have been waiting for a restaurant to open up like yours! All the restaurants are the same
out here
